Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby has been compared with immortal movie character 'Highlander'.
27-year old Frenchman Diaby has sustained a number of serious ankle injuries throughout his career which has prompted his fitness trainer Renaud Longuevre to suggest any other player would have retired by now.
As Diaby gets set for yet another comeback, Longuevre mentioned him in the same breath as the Christopher Lambert-played character from the 1980s and 1990s movie franchise who was a 'mysterious immortal'.
"Nine players of ten would have given up after that ankle injury," Longuevre said of Diaby.
"But contrary to the image of a fragile man in the media, Abou is Highlander! He is impervious to all these twists of fate. He always comes back."
