Fit-again Ikeme warns Wolves pal Hennessey

Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is determined to earn a Premiership place next season.

Ikeme, who turns 23 on Monday, has recovered from the back injury that ruled him out of the second half of the Championship triumph and has received the all-clear to figure in pre-season training.

Ikeme told the Express & Star: "Obviously it was very frustrating but I couldn't carry on, it was painful just walking let alone playing.

"It's a bit annoying to be fit again now that the season is over, but at least I can ease myself back into training without trying to do too much, too soon.

"While I've been injured I have given Wayne (Hennessey) my support and I think he's done really well. But he knows that I'll be challenging him for the jersey once the new season begins."
