Fiorentina winger Christian Koffi has explained turning down Liverpool.
The 19-year-old was on the move two summers ago after rejecting a professional contract at French club Monaco, and Liverpool held talks with the French-Ivorian over a switch to Merseyside.
However, Koffi turned down the advances of Jurgen Klopp's side, opting to make the move to La Viola instead.
He told Goal: "Everything was decided a little bit at the last moment.
"I was very flattered by the interest of Liverpool, but I chose Fiorentina for my progress.
"Liverpool is more than a big club and I was not ready at this time, especially in 2018. Liverpool's team was very good. It was not the good timing, it's the truth."
