Fiorentina supremo Mario Cognini admits they tried to re-sign Inter Milan striker Stevan Jovetic.

Jovetic left Fiorentina for Manchester City two years ago.

"We tried a move on the last day of the window," Cognini confirmed, as reported by calciomercato.com.

“I offered €5m gross for the loan, including the payment of his salary. The Chinese owners replied 'we're not selling anyone, if he doesn't play in Italy he'll play in China'."
