Fiorentina recruit Alessio Cerci has revealed he turned down an offer from Manchester City to join the Viola.
The 23-year old winger left AS Roma to join Fiorentina on Thursday and admitted he blatantly refused to head to Eastlands when the club made a bid for him.
"I refused to join Manchester City," he told Viola Channel. "[Sporting director Pantaleo] Corvino and [coach Sinisa] Mihajlovic convinced me to come to Fiorentina.
"They made me feel important and I have taken this opportunity. Florence for me is the right choice.
"It is difficult leaving the people and a club that has helped me grow, but for me, a new adventure begins."
