Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso admits he wanted to buy AC Milan.

Commisso has revealed he was in talks to buy a large percentage of the club from former owner Yonghong Li.

“I worked hard to buy Milan, but I never met Mister Li, maybe he didn't want to see me," Commisso told Telelombardia. “I'm still surprised by what happened but I'm happy too, because the opportunity arrived with Fiorentina.

"Now, I'm happy to be here, I hope to be here forever. But it was a great deal for the Elliott fund to buy Milan at that price, much lower than what I had been negotiating."
