Fiorentina have confirmed Vincenzo Montella as coach for next season.
Montella met new owner Rocco Commisso on Friday and will now stay on.
“I met Vincenzo this afternoon and he made an excellent impression on me," the Italo-American told the Viola's official website.
“He was full of enthusiasm and desire to start working straight away. Unfortunately, things didn't go well at the end of last season for a number of reasons.
“Much of this wasn't dependent on him as the players played with a certain degree of fear.
“I remember Montella's Fiorentina during his first spell in Viola perfectly. They were called Fiorentina-Olè and played some of the most spectacular football, not only in Italy but also in Europe.
“With the announcements of sporting director Prade and Mr Montella in just a few days, we've finalised both our sporting and technical management well ahead of my initial expectations and in record time.
“Moreover, we're continuing to work hard on all other fronts in order to be ready for the start of the new season and certainly before the opening of the transfer market on July 1."
