Fiorentina open talks with Liverpool for Divock Origi

Fiorentina have opened talks with Liverpool for Divock Origi this morning.

The Belgium international is available from Anfield with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

La Nazione via TMW says the Viola are keen and approached Liverpool yesterday morning about negotiations over a permanent deal for Origi.

Liverpool want €15m to sell the centre-forward, though Fiorentina will seek to talk down that valuation.

Origi would arrive to play with star striker Dusan Vlahovic and not replace him.

The striker hasn't tasted competitive action with the Reds this season and is inside the final year of his current contract. He also hasn't been considered for Liverpool's Premier League 2 games this term.

Now 26 years of age, Origi managed 17 appearances last season, scoring once and producing two assists.

Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano has made a positive start with the Viola and is fully behind a move for Origi before the deadline falls tonight.
