Fiorentina midfielder Riccardo Montolivo was delighted with Italy's 5-0 thrashing of Faroe Islands.

Montolivo revealed how the new Italy midfield changes constantly.

"The Coach told us to rotate the triangle in midfield, so we rotate positions and who goes forward, who stays back. It needs to be worked on, obviously, but we are on the right track," he said of the new 4-3-3 system.

"I can do better, as I had some pain in my ankle tonight, so I'm not entirely satisfied with my performance."

He added: "We are very united and want to give more on the field, regardless of who we are playing. We had to approach this game as if we were facing a top class side, as that is important to develop the right mentality."
