Fiorentina have jumped into the battle for Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen.

TMW says Fiorentina have joined the race for Vertonghen.

Vertonghen is expected to leave Spurs on a free transfer this summer after failing to agree new terms at Spurs.

Clubs across Europe have been forced into a rethink over summer transfers due to the financial impact of the global coronavirus outbreak, making free transfers an increasingly desirable option.

Vertonghen said last month: "I want to continue at the top level for a few more years and I would like to play European football next season. The Spanish and Italian leagues are the most obvious for the time being, but I will keep all options open."
