Fiorentina director of sport Daniele Prade has hinted coach Vincenzo Montella is set to be axed after their thrashing by Roma.

The Viola were thumped 4-1 on Friday night.

Prade said moments after the final whistle: “It's not easy to find a strong replacement for Montella. We are a club to be taken seriously, so we won't go around naming names of other coaches.

“We will sleep on it, as we must make the best decision for Florence, for Fiorentina, for the fans and for us. It's only right that the patience of the fans has its limits."

He also said: "The President wants to reflect. He has never sacked anyone, but the situation is very complicated, despite the many extenuating circumstances."
