Fiorentina coach Stefano Pioli says the club deserves to be in the Europa League.

With AC Milan excluded due to Financial Fair Play violations, Atalanta are bumped up to the group stage with Lazio.

This means Fiorentina will, if the Rossoneri appeal is rejected, enter from the preliminary rounds.

“I am calm, because the situation doesn't ultimately depend on us," said Pioli.

“I hope we can play in the Europa League and I think we deserve it for the club's reliability and the hard work of the team. We'd be ready if called upon and I really like what I'm seeing from the squad so far.

“It'd be a boost to our prestige and I'd be very happy to play in Europe. In any case, our objective this season is to improve our status."
