Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano was delighted after their 3-0 win at Hellas Verona on Monday night.

The match was lit up by a goal from inside his own half by Cristiano Biraghi.

“Biraghi did very well, because that's the kind of inspiration you need every now and then," Italiano told DAZN.

“It's rare we find situations like that. He deserves credit also for the finish, because it wasn't easy from that distance. He is a captain, this is a great goal and it's only right that we celebrate it.

“The 3-0 result is excessive considering the performances, but we must always accept the result on the pitch. We lost against a strong side, were a little naïve at times, and at 1-0 did have the opportunities to get back into it.

“We need to take the chances when they come along and that is what Fiorentina did. Things happen on the pitch, we mustn't let our heads drop."
