Fiorentina chief Joe Barone: Serie A needs to get organised

Fiorentina chief Joe Barone is calling for better organising over the postponement of games.

The Viola were due to play Udinese in Udine, and the squad had travelled up for the game. The match was then postponed with only 90 minutes to kick off.

"It's an emergency situation, the first thought naturally is to the health of the Italian people," Barone told Radio 24.

“Since we have been at the helm of Fiorentina, we have continuously asked for equal rules for everyone, both on and off the pitch.

“It's our obligation to have a calm championship. Yesterday I asked for a meeting before Wednesday, we are in a situation in which the most important thing, aside from the health of everyone, is Serie A, not individual teams.

Fiorentina follows and respects the rules, but as Italian football we are transmitting abroad that there isn't credibility nor unity, at a time when we are trying to showcase ourselves to foreign investors.

“For the sake of Italian football we have to get to a fixed point, waiting until Wednesday for a league meeting is too late.

“We are all available tomorrow."
