Fiorentina team manager Giancarlo Antognoni admits only an injection of cash can transform their ambitions.
They have now gone 50 years without a Scudetto.
“Fifty years have passed," former midfield star Antognoni said.
“After that, there have been two or three incidents where we could've replied, but we didn't succeed.
“Today it's difficult for Fiorentina to fight for the Scudetto.
“When I played, it was closer at the top. To win the League you need a lot of money, although I hope the Della Valles remain.
“They'll address the problems associated with the club's finances."
