Finland's Paatelainen tipping Pukki to become Celtic star

Finland national team manager Mixu Paatelainen believes Teemu Pukki will become a key operator at Celtic once he fully settles.

The 23-year old Finnish international joined the Hoops from Schalke in the summer and has so far scored just three goals in 18 appearances in all competitions.

However, Paatelainen has seen enough of Pukki at international level that he believes he has what it takes to become a star at Celtic Park.

"Teemu has every single attribute you need as a striker, except perhaps physical strength," he told the Daily Record.

"He has everything else but it takes a wee while for him to blossom.

"What has happened at Celtic is something we have seen before with Teemu. He was a very young guy when he went to Sevilla and got into the first team and it never happened so he came back to Finland and HJK Helsinki.

"It took him quite a long period to really get going.

"But my experiences tell me he'll do terrific for them when he feels fully at home.

"With a little more patience I can see he will score loads of goals and be a real success for Celtic.

"It is all about confidence. Hopefully it won't take too long."
