FINAL WHISTLE: Wolves 1-1 Newcastle

Newcastle United have fought back to grab a 1-1 draw with Wolves at Molineux Stadium.

Wolverhampton Wanderers: 1 (Sylvan Ebanks-Blake 43') Newcastle United: 1 (Andy Carroll 62')

Venue: Molineux Stadium - Wolverhampton Crowd: 27,745 Referee: Stuart Attwell Yellow cards:WW - Kevin Doyle 22', Jelle van Damme 38', Matthew Jarvis 45', Ronald Zubar 62', Adlene Guedioura 80', Christophe Berra 83', Karl Henry 85' NU - Andy Carroll 42', Kevin Nolan 64', Shola Ameobi 89', James Perch 90', Joey Barton 90'

In a contest marred by 12 yellow cards being handed out by Stuart Attwell, Newcastle were able to bounce back after going down just before the break although their free-running style from their 6-0 win over Aston Villa was not quite as evident against Wolves.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, who scored the leveller against Everton last week, opened the scoring when he brought down a Jelle van Damme cross and hammered past Steve Harper to give the home side the lead in the 43rd minute.

But Andy Carroll, fresh off a hat-trick, continued his sparkling development by netting an equaliser just after the hour-mark. The 21-year old powered home a header from a inswinging Joey Barton cross to give his side a share of the points which put them 5th on the table as Wolves moved up to 4th.
