FIGC president Carlo Tavecchio is convinced by the quality of Italy's U21 squad.
The Azzurrini have qualified for the 2015 Euros after winning their playoff against Slovakia.
"It will be important to make the final stages of the European Championship and also the Olympics," Tavecchio has told Rai Sport.
"I believe that this group can remain among the top four teams and that it contains important elements for the senior team.
"I see players of 21 years who are complete and ready for the transition to the top level."
