FIGC director Demetrio Albertini admits he'd be open to a return to AC Milan.
The former Rossonero midfielder has been linked with role under new Milan owners Elliott Management.
“I've never been contacted by anyone," he said at the 2018 edition of the Gran Gala del Calcio.
“I've been taking my own path for several years, but it would be a dream if it crossed with Milan's.
“It's as if Milan have been wrapped in a layer of fog, but clarity is always the best thing.
“I think the fans feel like they're on like on a rollercoaster: they go from moments of enthusiasm to ones of doubt and fear: they don't deserve this.
“Elliott? It's difficult to comment on them because the negotiations have been private and I don't want to be superficial.
“I don't know what the real intentions of the American fund are."
