French Football Federation president Noel Le Graet admits he's surprised by the actions of West Ham defender Kurt Zouma.

Zouma has been condemned after online videos showing him being cruel to his pet cat.

Le Graet said, "This act gratuitous, stupid and wicked violence, appears all the more astonishing that I have never heard of Kurt Zouma being badly spoken of.

"On the contrary, he is a boy known to be respectful, positive.

"However, I note his apologies, I hope he draws the necessary lesson and I believe that is the case."
