FFF president Le Graet: Real Madrid striker Benzema great player - but not for Deschamps

French Football Federation president Noel Le Graet can't see Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema ever making a return to the France squad.

Benzema hasn't played for France since before Euro2016 after becoming involved in an alleged blackmail plot.

Le Graet considered with Telefoot: "If Didier Deschamps was not the coach of the Blues, Benzema would return to the France team? That would have to be asked of another coach. Didier is in place, doing his job well, in a remarkable way. So the Benzema case is very difficult.

"Who can deny that he is a great player? Not me, not you, nobody, especially since he just had an exemplary season. Justice is a bit slow anyway. The Valbuena case is still not dealt with, it will be four years, so it's a bit long. Then there were words, perhaps more difficult to forgive than others. Not for me, I've always respected this boy. The player is wonderful. He has just had an exceptional year in one of the biggest clubs in the world. So these are different cases.

"(Adrien) Rabiot is young, Benzema it's getting difficult. So another coach I don't know, but justice also has a somewhat negative role in this career. Because I think four years is a bit long. If I regret my words that his Bleus career is over? No, I do not regret anything. If we are logical today, Didier will be there until at least 2022. I'm not sure he'll take Karim back."
