FFF president Le Graet can see Zidane taking charge of PSG

French Football President Noel Le Graet can see Zinedine Zidane replacing Mauricio Pochettino as PSG coach.

Zidane is among the first-choice options for PSG to become their new head coach, a move which has gained traction following their Champions League defeat to Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League.

"Zidane showed in Madrid that he had qualities we had barely imagined," Le Graet told L'Equipe. "In the French people's minds, he could be a successor. But it's not my objective. We'll see. If Didier [Deschamps] and I go our separate ways, he will be among the options."

Didier Deschamps is expected to lead France to the 2022 Qatar World Cup in November, but after the tournament, it could be Zidane who becomes the new coach should he not join PSG.

Le Graet says former Real Madrid coach Zidane has not been contacted about the prospect of becoming France coach.

"I'm not saying to myself, 'hopefully Didier says no so I can go see Zidane'," said Le Graet.

"We'll see. Zidane could take the PSG job. For the France team, you have to be free. But right now, we're going to do everything to put Didier in the best conditions to win this World Cup."
