The French Football Federation is maintaining contact with Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane.

The FFF have settled on Zidane being the national team's next coach after Didier Deschamps. Deschamps will remain in charge up to Euro2020, with the FFF then planning to replace him with Zidane.

El Confidencial says FFF powerbrokers are in regular contact with Zidane about succeeding Deschamps and the Real coach has made it clear he is enthusiastic about the long-term plan.

Zidane's priority is to fulfil his contract at Real before then taking on the France job once Deschamps steps down.
