Gold Coast United coach Miron Bleiberg believes Football Federation Australia is showing a total lack of disrespect to clubs. After the federation helped former Newcastle Jets coach Gary van Egmond into a position at the Australian Institute of Sport, they are now insisting that Gold Coast youngster Tahj Minniecon travel to Venzuela for a training camp with the Young Socceroos which has infuriated Bleiberg.
"Now I know why Con Constantine (Newcastle Jets owner) lashed out at the federation and felt he had been betrayed over the Gary van Egmond coaching appointment to the AIS," Bleiberg said.
"The federation is once again showing a total lack of respect to the clubs. I am fighting for all A-League clubs here - not just the Gold Coast.
"We kick off the A-League against Brisbane Roar on August 8. It's our debut and a blockbuster and I want my player here preparing for that game, not arriving back a day or two before.
"We are paying him a big contract and he's a key part of the team.
"This sort of thing just wouldn't happen at Barcelona or Ajax."
