FFA extends deal with National Australia Bank

National Australia Bank (NAB) has signed an expanded four-year deal with Football Federation Australia (FFA), reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

The agreement will see NAB become the FFA's official banking partner, with its 'whole of game' sponsorship rights extending from grassroots to elite Australian soccer.

The deal includes branding and promotional rights relating to the men's and women's national teams, the A-League, the FFA Cup, youth development initiatives and title sponsorship of the Young Footballer of the Year award.

According to the Australian Financial Review, the sponsorship is worth at least AUS$2 million (US$1.44 million) a year.

"NAB has been a fantastic partner of FFA for ten years but this signals a significant lift in investment and a strong endorsement from one of Australia's most respected corporations for the plans FFA has for football in Australia," said FFA chief executive David Gallop.

"NAB has been part of our growth period and was one of the companies who joined us at the ground floor. We look forward to working with them to ensure we both benefit from the continued growth of football over the next four years and beyond."

Andrew Knott, the NAB chief marketing officer, added: "NAB is a longstanding partner of the FFA and we're delighted to continue and expand our support. Our renewed partnership takes a whole of football approach from grassroots to the elite level.

"Whether it's local community engagement in the Westfield FFA Cup and AIA Vitality MiniRoos, or supporting our national teams on the global stage, we'll be there every step of the way. NAB is committed to doing our best to have a genuine impact on the growth of the sport."
