Feyenoord have turned down a bid from Newcastle United for midfielder Leroy Fer.
Fer only just won his first cap for Holland last week and has attracted interest from Newcastle and Everton this summer.
Feyenoord are in financial difficulties, but rejected the Toon's offer for Fer, insisting he was not for sale.
Dutch sources say Feyenoord expect Newcastle to make an improved offer in the coming days.
