Feyenoord great Wim van Hanegem is unconvinced by Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

While rating the Spain international's ability, Van Hanegem believes Thiago plays too much for himself and doesn't suit Liverpool's style of play.

He wrote for AD: "A lot of people think he's such a great player. I like him in himself, but he is especially good for himself.

"Just pay attention, with him it is often: chipping a ball over someone's leg, giving balls with the outside of the foot.

"Nice promotions for himself, but it doesn't make the team any smarter."
