Juventus coach Ciro Ferrara was beaming after their superb 5-1 thumping of Sampdoria last night. Amauri struck twice as Juve were able to get their Scudetto campaign back on track.
"It was better than our victory in Rome and our 2-2 at Genoa," said Ferrara. "Everything worked perfectly. The lads gave their best and the goals are important, but more than anything else I was glad to see the quality of football and consistent determination.
"Perhaps we just needed a spark to set us off. We were coming from some negative results and that affected the whole team. We are getting back on track and hope to continue along this path.
"It won't be easy, as tonight we kept the tempo very high, but this is the spirit I want to see."
Ferrara adopted the 4-2-3-1 system that finally seems to have got the best out of Diego in a trequartista role.
"A few weeks ago critics said Juve were too negative because they only played with one centre-forward," smiled the Coach on Sky Italia television.
"I don't think we wasted time in getting to this point, as the team had to transform its tactics from previous years. I also want to point out we did had already played like this before, but the system needs time to bed down."
