Ferran Torres: Players delighted Guardiola signed new Man City deal

Ferran Torres says Manchester City's players were delighted with manager Pep Guardiola's new three-year contract.

Torres was speaking before tomorrow's Champions League clash with Olympique Marseille.

He said, "We are all very happy that the manager is staying with us for more years. We hope he can give us lots more success and we are all happy with the news. When I came I knew it was a great opportunity for me, I knew it was going to be difficult because of the change of league and country but I worked hard every day to have the opportunity to play for this team.

"My goal is to work hard so that the manager trusts me to give me minutes."

Torres is being celebrated in Spain for his hat-trick against Germany last week.

He also stated: "It's a great motivation when a club like Man City is interested in you so when they tried to sign me I knew there were big expectations. The size of the club was huge but I was sure from the beginning I wanted to come so I was very happy that I finally came."
