Torres, has been officially presented by his new team Sagan Tosu and has indicated his determination to get started.
The 34-year-old has expressed his joy at joining the Japanese league and taking on a new challenge in his career.
"It's been a long trip but I'm delighted to be here," he said to reporters.
"I've always felt the love of the Japanese people, and coming to play here was something I had in my mind for a long time.
"I hope it will last for many years and I will help get the team out of the situation they are in.
"For me it's both a football and cultural challenge and I look forward to training with the team.
"If everything goes well I'll be able to play a few minutes soon, but that's a decision that the coach will have to make."
