Fernandinho: Man City must stick together

Fernandinho insists Manchester City didn't deserve defeat to Tottenham.

City lost 2-0 in a game which saw Ilkay Gundogan have a spotkick saved and Oleksandr Zinchenko sent off.

"The performance was good," Fernandinho told City's website.

"We played the same way we've played this season by creating chances but at the end the result was not the one we wanted.

"Now we need to stick together as a squad. We created chances especially in the first half where we hit the post and in the second half we hit the bar. We also missed a penalty so it was a strange game.

"We had a chance to score at least three goals but we have to accept it. We have to get back to training and improve."

The Brazilian, who recently signed a contract extension, made his 300th appearance for the Club during the defeat and has tasted a huge amount of success during his time in England, winning three Premier League titles, one FA Cup and four Carabao Cup winners medals.

He expressed his delight at the landmark and was keen to acknowledge the support of the staff and his team-mates during his six-and-a-half years in Manchester.

"It's a huge achievement and I'm so happy," he said.

"I'm really proud of my team to help me out. I am thankful to everyone at the club to help me achieve this and I am so grateful."
