Manchester City midfielder Gelson Fernandes wants to play regular first team football this coming season. The Switzerland international has been linked with a move away from Eastlands this summer.

"It is going to be a big year for me. I will not be looking to sit on the bench all the time," said the 22-year-old.

"I am aware that it is a squad game but I need to play."
