The visit this week to Carrington of former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been explained.
The suggestion had been he was involved in high-level talks about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's future as manager.
Instead, Ferguson had a pre-planned arrangement - as did other officials - to be fitted for his official club suit.
He didn't speak to Solskjaer or his players - and wasn't involved in any discussions about them.
Solskjaer will be in charge for Saturday's game at Tottenham. Beyond that, the Norwegian's future is less certain.
