Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson feels Jose Mourinho should go with the young players at Tottenam.

Mourinho has come in for criticism in the past - including at United - for failing to successfully bring through young players into the first-team.

He praised the young players he will have at his disposal at Spurs in his first interview since joining the club, stating that he "really likes" their squad.

And Sir Alex told talkSPORT, "The thing about young people is, if you give them an opportunity, not only do they seize it, they never let you down.

“They have enthusiasm to do well.

“If we go back to the young lads of '92, you give them an opportunity to play for Man United in front of 75,000 and they don't want to miss that.

“And they all did very well, and they're also very good human beings."
