Fenerbahce striker Slimani: Why I struggled at Leicester

Former Leicester City striker Islam Slimani has admitted that he struggled to adapt at the club.

Slimani arrived as the club's record signing but failed to make any impact in the two seasons he spent at the club.

In fact, Slimani went out on loan for the second half of last season to Newcastle - where he barely played. Now he is on loan at Fenerbahce for the rest of the season.

"In England, I had fewer chances to impress compared to Portugal," Slimani is quoted as saying by Leicestershire Live.

"England has a very different culture, environment and climate. It's a different place for everything.

"I've been through a lot of injuries in the last year and this affected my stats.

"In the games I played, the goals and assist numbers are not bad."
