There are growing fears that Liverpool ace Fernando Torres may need surgery to correct his groin injury.

The Daily Mail says Torres says he will play in pain against Lyon on Wednesday night as fears grow that he too will need an operation on his damaged groin.

The striker is anxious to revive Liverpool's desperate Champions League mission and lend his support to under-fire Rafa Benitez.

The Anfield manager last night admitted Torres, who has been struggling for several weeks, is "not comfortable" and said he "is feeling something".
