Ishmael Yartey is planning to force his way into the Portland Timbers starting XI.
The 25-year old Ghanaian striker has joined the MLS club on loan from Switzerland's FC Sion and is hoping to use his attacking abilities to impress head coach Caleb Porter.
"I like to exploit the spaces behind the defenders, and also I like to take on defenders in one-v-one situations," Yartey told media on Tuesday.
"I love to score goals and also create goals."
The former Benfica and Sochaux forward added: "[Porter] spoke very well of me and told me how the team plays and how he would like me to play.
"And basically I was very happy with the way he spoke to me."
