FC Midtjyllands defender Alexander Scholz says they can be proud of their 1-1 draw with Champions League opponents Liverpool.

However Scholz says it could've been even better if they'd taken their chances.

He said, "We only have ourselves to blame for the fact that it did not turn into three points. We got off to an incredibly bad start. A terrible mistake on my part, which we were close to correcting, but were a little unlucky with.

"Then we probably had a lot of chances and a failed goal, which they also had in the end.

"I think we managed to push them in the second half. It is clear that one could feel that they were on the back foot, and it was us who hunted a little. I think we were brave, but it was not enough."

Scholz added: "We had the chance and lots of situations where we could make things more dangerous, but that might be our Champions League debut in a nutshell. We were close, but it was not good enough."
