Federico Fazio believes joining Roma from Tottenham on a season-long loan deal will help his career in the long term

A switch to Serie A could give the 29 year old an opportunity to reignite his career after struggling to make an impact in English football and he is relishing a chance to do so.

"I joined Tottenham after playing in the Spanish league and English football is obviously different," he told Roma's official website.

"Every league is particular and it will be the same in Italy. I was happy in England. It's a very physical, aggressive, direct game.

"After a few years I decided to make this move to Italy and Roma. I see it as a step forward and I've very happy about it."
