The father of Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone admits he was surprised by his son's goal celebration during their Champions League win over Juventus.
Simeone's antics has been criticised by some, but his father hopes there won't be a ban for it.
"I didn't teach him that, I don't know where it came from," Carlos Simeone said in an interview with the 'El Larguero' show on Cadena SER.
"It surprised me because I thought that kind of thing was from another time.
"But it was a build-up of strange feelings and nothing more.
"I hope they don't punish him for it as it was done at his own stands and his own fans.
"It was a very interesting game, although the tie isn't over, not at all.
"I can't see my son away from Atletico Madrid.
"Football can surprise you, but right now I can't see him away from Atletico."
