The father of PSG star Neymar has dismissed talk of a move to Real Madrid.

Asked if his son was going to join Madrid by Brazilian television program Grande Circulo, though, Neymar da Silva Santos simply replied "no".

Neymar's Barcelona departure was nothing to do with the player feeling as though he was in the shadow of Lionel Messi, according to his father.

"It was not to get out of Messi's shadow," he explained.

"It was a very complex situation.

"We were asked for help to give visibility to a league. If you look between the lines, it's much greater than only Neymar's ambition."
