The father of Pablo Torre says Xavi was key to his son's move to Barcelona.

Torre has confirmed he rejected a bigger offer from Real Madrid to commit to Barca last season.

Former Racing star Esteban Torre told Cadena SER: "What made the difference was the call from Xavi. Because of the knowledge he had of Pablo. Xavi was one of the best in the world and can help him improve. The interest that Xavi had was incredible.

"Footballically, Barça is the team that best adapts to his conditions.

"Barça will always be a very big team. The good thing about this situation is that it seems to be a new project and with a coach with a lot of Barça DNA."
