The father of Antoine Griezmann is excited to see his son join Barcelona.

Alain Griezmann was evidently thrilled by the move, and couldn't hide his excitement when talking about his son playing alongside Lionel Messi.

"It's the collective, it's football, it's Messi," he told Barca Inside when asked what Barcelona meant to him.

"He's the best in the world and he thinks of others, he gives assists, he lets others shoot.

"It's beautiful to watch."

Griezmann left many fans at Atletico Madrid and the Camp Nou frustrated by his behaviour, but the player's father isn't too troubled by those upset.

"I'm not afraid," he said.

"As Antoine says, he'll do his talking on the pitch.

"He's made mistakes and he knows that, but everything will be settled on the pitch."
