Farke explains Norwich plans for Prem suspension

Norwich City boss Daniel Farke has explained how his players will handle their time during the Premier League's coronavirus suspension.

On Friday, it was announced that the season will be put on hold indefinitely dependant on the severity of the coronavirus pandemic in three weeks' time.

Farke told canaries.co.uk: “At this time, football is not the most important topic. The most important thing is the safety of our staff, players and supporters.

“We know we have to act carefully and responsibly during what is a stormy and crazy time for society. We have a duty to look after those around us.

“Yes, we are working with football players here in Norwich City, but also we are working with human beings. We must have a responsible training schedule and we must all be in a good physical and mental state to be prepared for every opportunity. Having a balance between training and rest is important.

“We continue to take advice from doctors and medical staff and will be careful with our training methods. We'll prepare as best as we can, but we're being especially careful in this period.

“The period will allow for some of our injured players to continue their work. The likes of Onel Hernandez, Timm Klose, Sam Byram – these players have had tough moments, but they can focus their work over this time.

“We also have to thank all of our supporters, for understanding and being with us in this difficult time. We know everyone wants to see us playing football, but in this moment we wish people to stay safe and act carefully. It is a difficult time, but we will see everyone on the other side."
