Burnley midfielder Alex MacDonald has joined Falkirk on a six-month loan deal.

Manager Owen Coyle believes the 19-year-old will benefit from a spell in Scotland's top flight.

"Alex is a player of huge potential, we have already see what he is capable of," he told burnleyfootballclub.com.

"Going on loan to Falkirk will give him a lot of experience. I am sure he will come back an even better player."

MacDonald made six substitute appearances for Burnley last season when they clinched a place in the Premier League.
