Fae admits Reading struggles

Reading midfielder Emerse Fae has admitted to being disappointed with the start he has made to his career in England.

The 23-year-old Ivory Coast international has made just four starts for the Royals since his arrival from French club Nantes and fears missing out on his country's squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations.

He told the Reading Chronicle: "It's a problem if I don't play for Reading. Maybe I won't go to the African Cup of Nations and I'm a bit worried.

"I wonder if I'm going now. If I don't play in Reading's team it's almost impossible for me to go.

"I played in the African Cup of Nations last year when we lost to Egypt in the final. It was my first tournament and a great experience for me and I'd love to be there again.

"It's always disappointing when you aren't playing, but it's no reason to stop working. I always work hard, it's not a problem for me.

"English football is very different, it's more physical and much quicker. In France there's more time on the ball, it's more tactical and you wait for your chance to attack.

"The best way to learn is to practice and to play and I'm happy at Reading."
