The FA are set to investigate after Chelsea lodged a complaint against Burnley on Monday night.

It's claimed Maurizio Sarri was repeatedly branded a “s*** Italian" by members of the Burnley bench, reports the Mirror.

Both clubs are also bracing themselves to be charged with failing to control their players and staff after the explosive scenes before and after the final whistle on Monday night.

Sarri was sent off during the 2-2 draw.

Chelsea staff made their feelings known to referee Kevin Friend who in turn is understood to have included the complaints in his report to the Football Association.

Friend is understood to have assured Chelsea officials that he would do so.
