FA charge Liverpool boss Klopp with improper conduct

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been charged by the FA for his pst-match comments about referee Paul Tierney after defeating Tottenham on Sunday.

Klopp claims Tierney had said something untoward to him. The incident came after Tierney booked Klopp for celebrating Liverpool's winner in the 4-3 triumph in the face of fourth official John Brooks.

The FA alleged Klopp's comments constitute "improper conduct".

Klopp has until Friday, 5 May to respond to the charge.

In a statement, the FA said: "It is alleged that the manager's comments regarding the match official during post-match media interviews constitutes improper conduct in that they imply bias, and/or question the integrity of the referee, and/or are personal/offensive, and/or bring the game into disrepute."
