Ezri Konsa 'really grateful' after penning long-term Aston Villa contract

Ezri Konsa has signed a new deal with Aston Villa.

Konsa has signed a new five-year contract extension with the club.

The 23-year-old has been outstanding for Villa this season after helping them to 14 clean sheets in the Premier League, leading to speculation that Liverpool and Tottenham were interested in the former Brentford man.

But he ended that speculation by signing an extension at the Midlands club until 2026.

"I'm really grateful the club have rewarded me with a new contract. It's a great feeling knowing that a club really believes in you and has trust in you," Konsa told the club's official site after confirming the deal.

"It's been a really good season for us, especially us lads at the back with the amount of clean sheets we've kept. We are only one away from matching a clean sheet record at Villa.

"It's something that I've been working towards since I got here, proving myself and playing games week in, week. I've been rewarded so I'm really thankful for that."
