Memphis Depay's contract with Barcelona carries an option for a third year, it has been revealed.

Esport3 says a clause for a third year that can be added to the Dutchman's contract unilaterally.

Barça would only have to advise Memphis before December 31 2022 that they want to extend his deal by an additional year. That's six months before his terms expire. All the conditions have been agreed.

Memphis, who turned down bigger offers, will have the chance to play for Barça under the orders of Ronald Koeman.

The former Lyon forward knows the coach well from their time together with the Dutch national team.
